The North edition of TV Times billed the programme as ‘Goodbye from ABC’ and I thought it would be a party with David Hamilton to celebrate the end of ABC. TV World (the Midlands ITV magazine) didn’t seem to bill it as anything special so, in Knutsford, where we got both Winter Hill and Lichfield, I got my parents to watch the Midlands version, assuring them that ABC North were having a party. How mad were they when we switched back to Channel 9 just in time to see David saying his final goodbyes….
